This is a rare late 19th-century (1893) sterling silver and cut glass Victorian Aesthetic Movement antique pepper mill.
Made by Hukin & Heath, the design attributed to Christopher Dresser.
The silver embellished in lovely bark effect. The globular glass container has similar texture, matching the silver lid and the base. The multi-faceted glass has thick walls, and gives a shimmering effect.

The grinding mechanism is original to the pepper mill, by Peugeot Freres Brevetes SGDG. Fully working.
Free from personal inscriptions or monograms.
