A beautiful late 19th-century (c.1890) Indian antique Vizagapatam trinket box.
Rectangular wood box, raised on four carved paw feet.
The body is veneered with faux tortoiseshell, heavily ornamented with intricate hand-carved fretwork. Hand-painted scrolling foliage and flowers. The center of the lid is adorned with a winged deity.
The interior has blue velvet lining, a removable tray with different-sized holes.
The box is free from personal inscriptions or monograms.
