This is an early 19th-century (c1800) Georgian-George III sterling silver & mother of pearl penknife.
Genuine mother of pearl scales.
Hallmarked sterling silver.
It has a sturdy hinge & spring, the blade latches on at 90° and then 180°, and snaps strongly when being opened and closed.
Free from personal inscriptions or monograms.

HALLMARKS: Sheffield, SILVER fineness 925.
DATE: c.1800
DIMENSION: Length : CLOSED 7cm (3 3/4"). OPEN 12.7cm (5") approx.
WEIGHT: 14g
CONDITION: The silver tip has dents. No damage to the mother of pearl.
